"A Glimpse of the Vault"
In the summer of 1995, artists William Giese and Mikio Kennedy were working with Arista Records to produce artwork for an ad campaign that would announce high-fidelity releases of some of the Grateful Dead's finest shows. These "From The Vault" releases were to be a "first of a kind" series of fan favorites released from never-before-shared soundboard recordings.
As the artwork was progressing, Jerry Garcia died. The project came to a screeching halt as the Grateful Dead universe was turned upside down.
Sometime later, Arista called back with plans to proceed with the Vault releases and the artwork was completed.
